1. Payment Processing
All payments for PDFSleuth subscriptions are processed by Lemon Squeezy (lemonsqueezy.com), which acts as the merchant of record for all transactions. This means Lemon Squeezy handles billing, invoicing, tax compliance, and payment disputes on our behalf.
When you subscribe, you enter into a billing agreement with Lemon Squeezy. You will receive receipts and invoices directly from Lemon Squeezy. For payment-related questions outside of this policy, you may contact Lemon Squeezy support at lemonsqueezy.com/help.
2. Subscription Billing
PDFSleuth subscriptions are billed on a recurring basis:
- Monthly plans are billed every 30 days from the date of first purchase.
- Annual plans are billed once every 12 months from the date of first purchase.
Your subscription renews automatically unless you cancel before the next renewal date. You will receive a reminder email from Lemon Squeezy before each renewal.
3. Cancellations
You may cancel your subscription at any time with no cancellation fees.
How to Cancel
Cancel directly from your PDFSleuth account:
- Go to your Dashboard.
- Navigate to Settings → Subscription.
- Click Cancel Subscription and confirm.
Alternatively, contact us at billing@pdfsleuth.com and we will process the cancellation on your behalf within 1 business day.
What Happens After Cancellation
- Your subscription will remain active until the end of the current billing period.
- You will not be charged again after cancellation.
- At the end of the billing period, your account will be downgraded to the free tier.
- Your account information will be retained. Your account data will not be deleted.
4. Refund Policy
14-Day Money-Back Guarantee
If you are not satisfied with PDFSleuth for any reason, you may request a full refund within 14 days of your first paid subscription charge. This guarantee applies to first-time paid subscribers only.
To request a refund under the money-back guarantee, email us at billing@pdfsleuth.com within 14 days of your initial charge. No explanation required.
Refunds Outside the Guarantee Period
After the 14-day guarantee window, subscription payments are generally non-refundable. However, we consider refund requests on a case-by-case basis in the following exceptional circumstances:
- A billing error or duplicate charge occurred.
- A technical issue on our end prevented you from using the Service for a substantial portion of your billing period, and the issue was not resolved despite reporting it.
- The subscription was renewed after a cancellation request that was not processed in time due to our error.
To submit a request, email billing@pdfsleuth.com with your account email and a brief description of the issue.
Non-Refundable Items
- Partial subscription periods (e.g., if you cancel mid-month, no pro-rated refund is issued).
- Renewals that were not cancelled before the renewal date.
- Accounts suspended for violating our Terms of Service.
5. Plan Upgrades & Downgrades
Upgrades: When you upgrade to a higher plan, the change takes effect immediately. You will be charged a pro-rated amount for the remainder of your current billing period.
Downgrades: When you downgrade to a lower plan, the change takes effect at the start of your next billing period. You will retain access to your current plan's features until that date.
6. Chargebacks & Disputes
We encourage you to contact us before initiating a chargeback with your bank or card issuer. We are committed to resolving billing issues promptly and fairly.
Initiating an unjustified chargeback may result in the immediate suspension of your account. Accounts suspended due to fraudulent chargebacks will not be reinstated.
